Introducing Jinju Castle
얼마나 작문을 안했으면 문장이 거지같네. 된장. 뭐여이게. 아무리 날림이지만...... -_-a
반성해라. -_-
I think that Jinju is one of the beautiful city in Korea, thanks to the Jinju Castle and Nam river. Jinju Castle is located at the center of Jinju City. In old times, most of cities were growing with castle as the central figure, so you can notice that the beautiful Jinju Castle is located at the center of Jinju City. Because of this reasen, you can find the castle so much easily and enter it with low pay. When you enter the castle, the first things you can find are green grasses and the road which is made of big stone bricks. How could you imagine that you can see the broad green grasses in the center of city?
Jinju Castle can be a wonderful place when you have date with your girl friend. Watching movie, just hanging out in the coffee shop, eating lunch or dinner are so common things that you can do in other cities, but in Jinju, when you feel boring that kind of things, you can buy some coffee and lunch box and than you can date with your girl friend in the Jinju Castle.
Of course, hanging out on the lawn is prohibited, but don't worry. There are plenty of benches you can sit. If you really look forward to hanging out on the grass, just pretend that you can't read korean.(There are some notices like "KEEP OFF THE GRASS" in korean) Just kidding. If you really want to sit, it can be possible, when you go to the castle in the non high demand season.
If fortune smile up to you, you can see the ceremony for ancestors who protected Jinju from Japan's attack. The ceremony is progressed by teachers and students in Dae-A Highschool. Ordinarily, it is held from 6 am. to 7 am, but sometimes, the time is changed with 2 or 3 pm. You can find the ceremony in the small temple beside of Dae-woong-jun which is the biggest Buddhist temple in Jinju Castle. The scene, lots of students pray for soul rest for their ancestors, will make you impressed. And you can see the hole process about korean traditional ceremony for ancestors in close distance.
In Jinju, there are two places you can hang out with your girl friend on a small boat. Jinju Castle and Jinyang Lake. Each place has their strong and weakness. At the Jinyang Lake, you can enjoy seeing the huge lake and beautiful scenery. Especially at sunset, the romantic atmosphere is totally great, but it seems that you have to paddle by yourself,(If your girl friend is stronger than you, or she has a way with a double paddle or you want to treat your girl friend without sexual discrimination, it's not a problem.) and the wind is sometimes too strong to paddle.
At Jinju Castle, it is hard to suffer from rattling wind, but you have to care about heavy rain. The day after downpour, please don't take a boat. In the next day, in the Jinyang Lake Dam(in korean, 진양호댐), some flood-gates are opened, and a lot of water is arrived in front of Jinju Castle. If lots of water is arrived when you and your girl friend are on a boat, even though you do your best, your boat will flow over and over again.
The last thing I want to introduce about Jinju Castle, is the legend of Non-Gae Rock.(in korean, 논개바위) Non-Gae is the name of famous Kisaeng in korean history.(Kisaeng is a korean traditional waitress, but they sang a song and danced for their customers. Sometimes they sleep with their male customers, but it is limited when they were charmed by customer's personality, learning, scholarship, high moral repute, or that kind of things.) When Japan conquered Jinju, she was one of the beautiful waitress in Jinju. At the party held to celebrate japanese army's win, She had been moving to a rock which was closed to Nam river, dancing gracefully to tempt(acually to kill) japanese general, and when the general hugged her, she hugged too, and she jumped into the river. She had interlace her fingers and there was 1 ring on her every single finger, so the general didn't shake off her hug, and they were died. Anyway, lot's of korean believe that Non-Gae's soul is remaining in the rock, and until now, her soul is protecting Korea. They believe that just before some big bad incident happen, the rock is getting closer with Jinju Castle. It could have no meaning to you, but seeing the rock, and standing on the rock, you can recognize Non-Gae's claverness and her patriotism, and it can be a opportunity to know about your girl friend's mother country.
